Bad Wolf Horizon

Live stream drone footage is a new service – and the first of its kind in the UK – which client Tom Wadsworth, Director at Bad Wolf Horizon, has developed and recently launched. Tom had a big, impactful debut in collaboration with Visit Cornwall, who have a huge social media following. The live streaming covered three locations: Newquay, St. Ives and Falmouth. Celebrating the beauty of Cornwall in such an event was a great way to kickstart the business, but it took support from Oxford Innovation Breakthrough coach Lloyd Brina and the team at Access to Finance to help make it happen.

“I learnt about Access to Finance through the Breakthrough programme and my business coach, Lloyd Brina. I wasn’t aware that there were business loans and grants were so readily available, but I knew that it would help take my business to another level, by opening so many more options.

“The whole A2F team was so useful and they have different team members whose skills are specialised in one area. Jackie George was my main contact for my grant application, John Whittaker helped me refine and develop my business plan, but all the team were available if I had any questions or queries during the application processes.”

“From his attendance at our “Finance for start-ups” masterclass, Tom was given the key information and skills to apply for a start-up loan and BIG2 grant. I then worked on a one to one basis with him to refine the application to ensure that the process went as smoothly as possible. Tom was a great pleasure to work with, responding quickly to the various tasks set led to a speedy, succesful conclusion. It is always a real buzz to help a business make significant strides like this and all of us at Oxford Innovation look forward to watching Bad Wolf go forwards from here.”

“I applied for a business loan and a grant, with help from the A2F team. The whole process went smoothly, but that does not mean that it was not hard work. It took a lot of time to organise myself, my business plans, financial forecasting and to sort out all the paperwork.

“I applied for funding as the new project I was working on required a top of the range drone – the DJI Inspire 2 with a load of accessories. This is the same drone that they use in Hollywood movies, so it is a serious piece of kit, which I definitely would not have been able to afford on my own. This new equipment has put me so much further ahead of my competition, so I am grateful to the A2F team for all of your support throughout this process.”
